Artist Statement
I’m Quadir Moore, a multimedia artist and editorial photographer from Queens, New York, now based between New York and Paris. Rooted in Black American heritage, my vision has been shaped by experiences across the U.S., Europe, and beyond. My practice moves fluidly between photography, video, and cultural commentary — always anchored in storytelling, identity, and presence.
In my studio work, I center Black elegance, queer freedom, and cultural specificity. My images do more than document; they reclaim space, challenge neo-colonial frameworks, and honor legacy while pushing new narratives forward. With a cinematic tone and high-contrast visual style, my work creates space for beauty, complexity, and liberation.
Alongside my independent practice, I contribute editorial and social content to Esquire and Elle, and photograph high-profile cultural events with the photo agency BFA. I also freelance across fashion, art, and branded content — collaborations that extend my storytelling and connect people, places, and memory.
At the core of my work is the belief that still and moving images hold power: they can affirm presence, expand narratives, and reshape how history is remembered.
