2 Worlds in 1 Frame” is a fashion editorial that reclaims colonial aesthetics through a radical Black gaze. Drawing from symbols of imperial power—structured silhouettes, corsetry, and dark opulence—the imagery subverts them with softness, surrealism, and unapologetic presence. Set against painterly red and blue backdrops, hand-painted by myself to evoke resistance and mourning, the subjects stand not as relics of history but as its challengers. This work critiques the lingering influence of neo-colonialism in fashion while asserting Black autonomy, beauty, and authorship in spaces once shaped by dominance
